Sams & Associates is a collection of companies wholly owned by Don Sams.

The master company was founded at the very start of 1990 and originated in a borrowed conference room of Don's accountant in Emeryville. We had our corporate headquarters in Emeryville before moving  to Sacramento when we moved our Bay Area office from Emeryville to Walnut Creek in the late 90's.  We eventually moved that office again to Concord.  Over the years we have also opened or acquired physical offices in Redding, Chico, Reno, Napa, Santa Rosa, San Francisco, San Ramon, Modesto, San Jose, Santa Cruz, Watsonville, Salinas, Monterey, Modesto, Fresno, Simi Valley, Pasadena, Anaheim, San Bernardino, Las Vegas, Oceanside, and San Diego.

We still service all of those areas, but have found that, in this day and age of digital communication, it is much more efficient to centralize all operations.  Our adjusters also love not having to commute into work, thus being able to cover their claim inspections and reporting with more flexibility.  Therefore, we streamlined our operations and leveraged the benefit of having all clerical and managers together by eliminating that wasteful overhead. We now have just two physical offices staffed with clerical, manager(s) and adjusters.

All other adjusters work from their homes in their respective areas.

We entered business in Nevada in 1996 and are separately incorporated and licensed there as Independent Adjusters.  In 2010 we expanded into Washington and Oregon.  In 2011 we have expanded into Texas.  More western states are coming soon.

Our company evolved to include quite a bit of SIU (Special Investigation Unit) work as part of our claims investigations.  Certain tasks and data access are only available to licensed Private Investigators, so we obtained our Private Investigators license in order to better serve our clients and facilitate our investigations.  Our Independent Adjuster License and our Private Investigator License are held under separate corporations for licensing purposes, but they all serve the claims investigations process. Therefore, we are actually three companies:
